Borussia Dortmund's Unbeaten Run Ends in Dramatic 2-3 Loss to Werder Bremen

Dortmund Squanders Two-Goal Lead in Added Time

Dortmund's first Bundesliga defeat of the season came at the hands of Werder Bremen in a thrilling encounter at the Signal Iduna Park.

Borussia Dortmund's impressive start to the Bundesliga season came to an abrupt end as they suffered a dramatic 2-3 defeat to Werder Bremen. Despite taking an early two-goal lead, the Black and Yellows were punished for their defensive lapses and eventually succumbed to a stunning comeback from the visitors.

Dortmund made a blistering start to the match, with Julian Brandt and Jude Bellingham finding the back of the net within the first 20 minutes. However, Bremen refused to go down without a fight and pulled one back through Leonardo Bittencourt before the break.

The second half saw an open and entertaining contest, with both sides creating chances. Dortmund had several opportunities to extend their lead, but they were unable to make the most of their dominance.

As the game entered the final minutes, Bremen began to pile on the pressure. In added time, Niclas Füllkrug equalized with a brilliant strike, and just moments later, substitute Marvin Ducksch completed the comeback with a stunning volley.

Dortmund's defeat marked their first of the Bundesliga campaign and will be a major disappointment for coach Edin Terzic. The Black and Yellows will need to regroup quickly as they face Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
